A post-doc Biology researcher needs to learn about Bioinformatics. She knows the Biology, but needs help with the data structures and algorithms. She goes to the SCALE site and reads through the available lists, selecting Mathematics and Computer Science lists, but unselecting Biology links. She is then able to read texts and journal articles about Bioinformatics, with links filling in the areas she isn't familiar with.
