Walter B. Wriston wrote avidly on information technology, banking, and economics. Using a number of his essays and speeches, he compiled them into three books: Risk & Other Four-Letter Words, The Twilight of Sovereignty: How the Information Revolution Is Transforming Our World, Bits, Bytes, and Balance Sheets: The New Economic Rules of Engagement in a Wireless World.

Risk & Other Four-Letter Words was published in 1986 by Harper & Row Publishers. This book examines the global marketplace and economics.

The Twilight of Sovereignty: How the Information Revolution Is Transforming Our World was published in 1992 by Charles Scribner's Sons. This book focuses on information technology and its impact on the world.

Bits, Bytes, and Balance Sheets: The New Economic Rules of Engagement in a Wireless World was published in 2007 by Hoover Press. The book was published posthumously. It also discuses the impact of information technology as well as the impact of intellectual capital.
