Along the Row

Along the Row was Holmes' first published book of verse. Appearing in 1929, it contained a collection of poems about Holmes' remembrances of student life at Tufts College. The book was revised in 1944 to include poems Holmes had written about teaching as well as selected columns reprinted from the Tufts Weekly and photographs of the campus by Professor Melville H. Munro.

A selection of poems from the first edition of Along the Row, and written when Holmes was a senior at Tufts, have been animated with photographs of the campus and a narrative soundtrack.

Along the Row, title poem from the book, takes the reader on a stroll down Professors Row at Tufts, pointing out many campus landmarks on the way.

Class Poem, 1929 was written for the graduation exercises for the Class of 1929.

Three P's Presents... is a poem celebrating one of Tufts' oldest student theater groups, Pen, Paint, and Pretzels, familiarly known as Three P's. The photos accompanying this poem were taken by Professor Munro during the spring 1929 production of George Bernard Shaw's Arms and the Man.
