This draft shows revisions based on a letter from Howard Moss of the New Yorker dated October 9, 1953:

"I'm happy to say that we think your revision of I CAN MANAGE MULTIPLICITY (we prefer this title to your suggested new one, by the way) is fine. One change we'd like to make, if you agree, is in the last line of the next to last stanza. We'd like to change it to: The past was not too much, why should the present overwhelm me? It seems clearer to us."
